Navia Robinson, AMTC grad, (2nd row on right), knew from an early age she wanted to perform. This quadruple threat is currently starring on two new, major TV shows: "Raven's Home" on Disney and "Free Rein" on Netflix. Laura Bretan is from Chicago, Illinois. Encouraged by her mother, Laura Bretan has been singing in church since she was a four-year-old girl. At age seven, while listening to Disney's "Sleeping Beauty," she realized she can sing in a different manner, however she continued to sing only Christian music.
She loves classical music and has been an aspiring opera singer ever since. She believes she can touch people's hearts with her voice and hopes she can inspire others, especially teenagers, to enjoy opera as much as she does after realizing that it is the most complex form of art.
Along with being American, Laura is also Romanian, born to Romanian parents. She won the 6th season of Romania's Got Talent. Laura Bretan's audition on America's Got Talent received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel. Moved by her performance, Mel B pressed her Golden Buzzer to send Laura straight to the Quarterfinals and was #6 on the Final episode.
Chris Young knew early that he wanted to pursue a career in country music. Raised just minutes away from Nashville, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he began making trips to Music Row at a young age, trying to land a record deal. He came to AMTC at the age of 13 with Advantage Models & Talent. He went on to win the TV show, “Nashville Star.” Today at the age of 29, he’s one of country music’s most successful artists with 4 albums, 6 #1 singles and 7 gold-platinum certifications. USA Today calls him, “one of country music’s most reliable hitmakers.” He’s also gone “global” with a Sold-Out World Tour after winning the British Country Music Award International Act of the Year, Chris has quickly become an international ambassador for Country Music.
Julian Silva’s talent is only exceeded by heart. Julian was cast in the role of Gavroche for the North American Tour of Les Misérables shortly after SHINE. When interviewed, he told a reporter that he prayed before every performance: “Jesus meet me at the mic.” Since then, Julian has done several national TV commercials and an upcoming film with the director of God’s Not Dead. Most recently, Julian was cast in the most coveted child theater role in the world: Young Simba in the Lion King on Broadway. The entire Silva family is very dear to the ministry of AMTC, and we must commend Dan and Maria Silva as model parents for a Christian child star.

Joivan Jimenez is a man that lives boldly and to the fullness to please God. Passionate and in Love with his family, a student of Worship, Leadership, Acting and Fashion, He is one of the up and coming Young Latino influences of this Generation. As an Actor, Joivan was recently featured in the award winning film "Stand Your Ground." Internationally, he has done commercials for Texaco, Burger King, and many others. As a singer, he invites God's presence with his heart and voice, bringing audiences to their knees. Joivan has toured the world. He has sung for the president of the United States. 2017 NEWS: Joivan's Generacion DeFuego was nominated for Spanish Song of the Year for the 48th DOVE AWARDS. Tiffany Brevard is doing it all. This actress/model/songwriter turned humanitarian presently serves as an ambassador with For Good Entertainment, where she has worked on several social action campaigns. Her song Take Me Home was recently released on ITunes, Amazon and Spotify in promotion with the documentary Harry and Snowman with proceeds benefitting The American Humane Society, Homes for Horses, and ASPCA. As a model, Tiffany has walked for LA Fashion week, and has worked as a promotional representative for Abercrombie and Fitch. She has appeared on CNN in advocacy of For Good Entertainment. She has also interned as a VJ on Juce TV and is a current news anchor for the University of Southern California's See It Live.
20 year-old Austin Crute is an up and coming singer, songwriter, producer and actor from Atlanta, Georgia. Having been featured as an artist on NBC’s Majors and Minors, Crute recently released his debut mixtape “PLAY”, a fusion of pop, hip-hop, and r&b, which was completely self-written and produced. Not limited to the studio, his musical talent spans into theatre where he recently appeared as Seaweed in NYU’s production of Hairspray. Most notably, Austin can be seen this fall on FX’s Atlanta, playing Justin Bieber on the episode Nobody Beats the Biebs. He continues to grow and collaborate as a student at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded music, while working and auditioning in his spare time.
Tiffany Hines is a quadruple threat performing sensation, performing as a singer, dancer, model and actress. Tiffany grew up in Cincinnati, studying dance and singing, while maintaining an “A” average in school. She won several National Dance Competitions in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, and acrobatics. After high school, she juggled a job as a dance instructor while attending the University of Cincinnati, and singing for two different bands! Tiffany loved performing, but she had no idea her life was about to change. The following summer, she attended the SHINE, won Overall Female Actress and many contract offers! Tiffany has been a series regular on many TV shows, including Bones.
10-year-old Kevelin Jones is starting his career in a big way. A native of Flint Michigan, Kevelin graduated Winter SHINE 2016. He has performed at many live events including the Idlewild Music Festival. This fall the young singer/actor/model can be seen along side Grammy Award winning singer Deborah Cox in the US Premier/North American tour of The Bodyguard: The Musical.
Johnny Apple came to SHINE twice at the ages of 15 and 16. He wowed AMTC's judges both times. Perhaps this polish set the stage for the talented young South African to win South Africa’s Got Talent. He’s currently signed with Sony Music and has released his first single and album by the same name: Warrior. When asked about the new single, he says: “If it gives just one person the courage to be a warrior and stand up for what he or she believes in, I will have done what I set out to achieve.” Johnny also opened for the band, One Direction. With Twitter abuzz with affection for the young star, it appears Appelgrein’s career is starting to take off. Not quite ready to place all his eggs in one basket, he says: “It’s important to me that I finish school, because you never know what’s going to happen in this life. I want something to fall back on. Also, I want to be a good example to those who look up to me – and this is me doing the right thing.”

After SHINE, in the same year, Noah’s booked his first big job in Blake Shelton's video, 'Honey Bee.' He made movie debut in 'Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas,' where he acted and sang in the part of Bailey, opposite Tyler Perry, Alicia Witt, and Chad Michael Murray. Noah was Young Ryan in 'The Identical' with Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Seth Green, and Blake Rayne. For his portrayal of James in the short film Eleven, Noah won the 'Best Young Actor Award' at the Action on Film International Festival. Noah's current television projects include 'Mr. Robinson' (NBC), and 'The Kicks' (Amazon). He has also appeared on 'Sam and Cat', 'See Dad Run', 'Children's Hospital', and the Nickelodeon pilots 'Twang' and 'Like a Girl'. In 2012, Noah was chosen as one of Nickelodeon's 'Groundlings', where he developed a talent for improvisational comedy. In music, Noah is working with one of Justin Timberlake's producers, Rob Knox. TyAlaxandar is from North Bergen, NJ and came to SHINE to rap and dance, he discovered additional talents in modeling and acting. He was chosen for the American Eagle International ad campaign soon after SHINE and continues to get booked as a model. His cool style and easy charm just add to the package. At the same time, Ty's rap career continued to move forward, with a growing fan base and many national tours. Most importantly for Ty is to honor God and help others. As a teen, he began a nonprofit for inner city kids to grow in in the arts, called ‘FitToFlow.'
Lyndsay Ricketson is a born and raised “Georgia Peach.” She graduated from Berry College Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Musical Theatre in the Spring of 2009, and currently lives in the Metro Atlanta area. She’s a triple threat performer (actor, singer, dancer) who’s been in dozens of shows, films and musical productions, including Next To Normal, Titanic: The Musical, Little Women, Sweeney Todd, Company and Wicked. Although Lyndsay has worked in NY and on tour, she counts Atlanta as her home in theaters such as the Alliance and FTC.
At the age of 5, Diana DeGarmo belted out Broadway Baby at AMTC. Surely, she was singing her future into existence. Although a lifelong performer, she rose to fame at the age of 16 as first runner-up on AI, Season 3. Her following success as a pop singer set her up for big Broadway and theater success, with lead roles ins shows like in Hairspray, Godspell, Brooklyn, The Musical, 9 to 5, and Joseph and and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Diana married fellow AI finalist, Ace Young. Diana has also toured for the USO and been a spokesperson for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
After leaving Canada for New York City, Wendy Heagy headed to Broadway to begin her new life as an actress and dancer. It wasn't until fifteen years into her career, however that she made the decision to follow Christ, which she thought meant leaving show business behind. Now a talent consultant with Actors, Models and Talent for Christ, and with a new acting resume that includes the role of a core police officer on Law and Order: SVU, Wendy feels confident that God has called her back into the entertainment industry to be salt and light for His name.
Aaron Conley, from West Point, MS, always knew his calling. He came to SHINE at the age of nine. His story of faith and fundraising were an inspiration to everyone he met during his AMTC experience. After convention, Aaron signed with Shirley Grant Management. A short time later, Aaron and his mother drove all the way to New York City to audition for the role of ‘Young Simba’ in The Lion King on Broadway. Against the odds of a newcomer winning one of the world’s most prestigious child roles, he got it! Aaron was able to complete over three hundred performances! The faith and courage of Aaron and his mother was a witness of Jesus before we in AMTC knew Him personally. We are thankful and praise God for the Conley’s.
Jordan Barker is a youth performer from Trinity, Texas. She originally joined AMTC to pursue her passions of modeling and acting, but through the training found and developed her gift for comedy. Winning the VIP Choice Award for Stand Up was just the beginning. She has booked a new gig nearly every week since being home, performing in comedy clubs and open mics across Texas. Her favorite opportunity to date was being asked to open for fellow comedian Chris Porter at the Improve Arlington. Her comedy has opened doors for newspaper and radio interviews - leading to featured artist spots at comedy showcases and a chance to make more people laugh and enjoy life. Jordan has also continued to follow her dreams of modeling and acting. She has done voiceover work, appearing in a project with fellow AMTC grads: Shimmy Shimmy Shamrock as the little girl. She is a part of a traveling theater group taking 'Christmas in the Future' to schools all around East Texas, and is a feature model for the coloring book made of the group. At 12 years old, Sara Stevens came to SHINE, and shine she did bringing judges to a stand ovation . That same year, she entered and won first place in the American Protégé International Music Competition, receiving the chance to perform on stage at Carnegie Hall. Her voice combines natural sweetness with conviction and power. Sara is one of those undeniable talents who can make the most skeptical music professional sit up and take notice. “Most of the time, when people say, ‘I want you to hear this really talented 12 year-old, you go, ‘yeah, right,’” composer/producer Paul Schwartz, conductor of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera, reminisces. “But I’ve never worked with anyone like Sara. Her voice would be surprising coming out of anybody.” Sara has recored numerous sings with Schwartz, performed on national stages and sung the national anthem for numerous major teams. Colin Huntley is an emerging, award-winning singer/songwriter & guitarist based in Austin, TX. He was named by Kings of A&R one of the Best Emerging Artists. The video for his single, “Best I Never Had" has already garnered big YouTube hits and was nominated for an HMMA Award. He was also a contestant on ABC’s Rising Star. Colin began pursuing acting and music at AMTC. His stage presence and outgoing personality led to his being signed for acting by Abrams Artists and Snow Entertainment LA. He took extensive acting classes and booked several roles along the way, the highlight of which was on ABC’s Modern Family. Colin is also now represented by Pastorini-Bosby Agency in Texas. While in LA, Colin wrote and recorded his first three original songs, “Wings”, “I Bet” and “Linger” with Producer, Anthony Mazza. Later, Colin began working with Grammy-winning Producer Randy Miller followed by a collaboration with Co-Writer/Producer Keith Follese in Nashville. Colin is currently recording new original songs for a 3rd EP with Producer Matt Noveskey (Bassist for Blue October).

As a teen model/actor, singer/songwriter, Keta Jo attended the SHINE Conference. With a sweet, soulful voice and fresh, yet timeless songwriting style, this Indiana-bred artist landed a record deal with Capitol Records at the age of 16. It came from the first batch of songs she had ever written and recorded. Her first album is a dreamy brand of deeply melodic dance-pop that merges magnetic beats with organic instrumentation. Gabbie Rae is a fast rising rock vocal phenom artist living in Los Angeles with plans to take over today’s rock world. She's has done the Belk sponsored Southern Musicians Showcase Tour and has been traveling the country with her band since the release of her debut EP “Audio Selfie.” This six song compilation is a compelling blend of inspiration, soul and sass. She explains, “Audio Selfie gives my fans a direct look into who I am. It exposes my fears, failures, and flaws, as well as the fun, energetic, spunky side of me. It’s my musical Instagram reel!” Beth spent several weeks on MTV’s most popular artist list, peaking at #9, among the likes of Rhianna, Carrie Underwood and Beyoncé. She was also named one of Kings of A&R Top 8 Emerging Artists. Brandon has been performing since the age of nine. A virtuoso, Brandon plays the piano, guitar and is currently learning to write original songs. At SHINE, Brandon placed in the top five for overall performer, overall singer, overall dancer and actor and he received the most callbacks among all performers. His big break came when he was selected from among 40,000 auditioners for the Hub original reality show Majors and Minors (cast alongside fellow AMTC grad Austin Crute) where he got to showcase his musical and dance talent while being mentored by professionals. Brandon is signed with the Campbell Agency in Dallas and continues to model, act, sing, dance, write and choreograph. The former child star is now a teen professional. Dionne Carole was a teacher for 12 years, which later landed her in a school administrative position. One day, her friend told her about an audition in New York City. With no guarantee of the outcome, Dionne left her successful career: “I took a great leap of faith . . . and took the job in New York. I can honestly say that God has been so good ever since.”
After attending SHINE, Dionne began landing roles on Cruise Lines and theater productions like Dreamgirls Broadway Tour, Faces of Black History (Irving Street Repertory), Ain’t Misbehavin, Smokey Joes Cafe and Godspell. She also competed in and won the McDonald’s Gospel Fest.
Country music artist Brandon Chase is nothing shy of a miracle. Only a few days old, Brandon quit breathing 64 times in 12 hours and was told by doctors he could be deaf, blind, mentally impaired or possibly all three. Not only did the Arlington, TX native not suffer any complications from his childhood, he instead went on to graduate high school at the age of 15. He then completed his masters certificate in songwriting from Berkeley College of Music at the age of 17. Brandon taught himself how to play the piano and guitar and has been writing his own original music since the age of 14. Brandon was featured on iTunes "New and Noteworthy" and also "Rising Stars of Country" following the release of his EP “Country Enough.” His most recent achievement was appearing multiple times on season 5 of NBC's The Voice as a member of Blake Shelton's team. Mathai was born in New York but has lived in Dallas, TX, most of her young life. She is the first generation of her family, who hail from India, to be born in the United States. A student of jazz, her unique vocal stylings span such influences as Billie Holiday, Adele, Nelly Furtado and Nora Jones. Her break came when she was discovered by two industry executives while attending AMTC’s SHINE. She soared in Season 2 of The Voice and later collaborated and toured with LeCrae. Ali Faulkner was named a “Rising Star” by Yahoo Movies. She grew up in West Plains, MO, and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in Communications. Ali's landed principle or starring roles in over 10 films, including The Song and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, in addition to television and theater. At the age of seven, she began performing solos in her church choir. She credits all of her success to God and family, and has a vision of a performing arts charity that pays for the education of performers who wouldn’t be able to afford to develop their talents. Prior to starting his music career, Philadelphia native Dustin Tavella worked for a humanitarian organization aiding the homeless and mentoring in youth programs. Once he began to recognize the impact positive music could have on people, he began to make the shift toward a career in entertainment, writing, and recording his R&B-flavored pop songs and posting them on YouTube. Beginning in 2011, he began releasing singles and gained some national exposure when he appeared on CMT's romance reality show Sweet Home Alabama the following year. Mixing a bit of country into his predominantly urban style, he released a handful of singles related to the show. In 2013, he released the single "Everybody Knows (Douchebag)," which went viral when pop singer Selena Gomez choreographed a dance video to the song as a send-off to ex boyfriend Justin Bieber. The most famous Alaska musician that no one in Alaska had heard of is burgeoning indie star, Kate Earl, now known as Earl. She grew up in Chugiak, AK, of Filipino, Dutch and Welsh descent. Kate says “I had so many hours of dreaming logged in at my parents gas station. Ring up a customer, dream… stock the shelves, dream… plow the snow, dream.” The dream was fueled when Kate came to SHINE and got in full gear when she moved to L.A.. Since then, Kate has release three albums, is working on her 4th, and enjoys a growing following.
During the 9th season of American Idol (the same year he came to SHINE), Tim Urban emerged on the national music scene with a blend of his smooth vocals, all-American charm, cool hair and trademark smile. His talent, determination and upbeat attitude won the hearts of fans all over the world and earned him the number seven slot in the competition as well as the chance to perform on the AI concert tour. Now married, Tim continues to write new music, pursue acting opportunities and perform concerts around the country.
Uriah Shelton loves acting, singing and martial arts. He attended SHINE at the age of 8 and has spent the last ten years working steadily as an entertainer. He was a series regular on TV shows including The Glades, Blue, and Girl Meets World. He guest starred in The Suite Life, Nancy Express and Monk, and had principals roles in both films and TV movies, included Lifted, about a boy whose dad goes off to war. His latest film is Warrior’s Gate, where teenager is magically transported to China and learns to convert his video game skills into those of a Kung Fu warrior.
Damien Horne was born the 7th of 12 children to unmarried parents. His childhood was littered with the road blocks of public housing, gangs, prison, abuse, and addiction. More than an entertainer, Damien has become a hero to countless people. His public service is a roadmap to Christ. As an AMTC grad, Damien is among the most versatile performers ever to shine on our stages: a singer/songwriter, dancer, actor, comedian and commercial model. Jackson Nance, a Leiper's Fork, TN native, attended AMTC at the age of 9 with Advantage Models & Talent. The young prodigy and wowed the judges with his voice, good looks and stage presence. Now 16, he's the youngest artist ever to sign a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Records in Nashville. (He is also signed with BMI.) Jackson has released a song, It's a Swamp Thing, with country legends, the Swampers.
